While shopping at an LA-based clothing and home-goods retailer, the owner shared her vision for their next store. We offered to help.

The company manufactures everything in Los Angeles themselves and hosts a ton of events and community programming. This new shop would be a hub to gather everything under one roof. They had already signed the lease and started on preliminary construction and demolition, so the timeline was tight.

The building they were moving to was a typical bow truss warehouse with loadbearing masonry walls. An overzealous landlord had already built half of a soulless Tenant Improvement by the time we got involved. We proposed bringing in a palette of xyz. Local suppliers. Recycling. Bringing the street and city in.

Ultimately, the project didn’t work out for this totally reasonable reason. No hard feelings. Under process, add more material samples (e.g. plants from Plant Material, end grain flooring and wall lumber from Angel City, stainless steel prototype?, colors, etc.)
